Sink
An indentation on the surface of the part as a result of significant local change in wall section. Caused by the shrinking action of cooling plastic, sink will occur in thicker areas of part geometry; typically round ribs or bosses. If a part was sectioned, a "void" can be found within the wall.

Sinks can range in depth. Notice the locations of sink on this demonstration plaque.
